Maple Apple Crisp
Apple crisp is a perfect dessert in the fall. Today, I’m sharing a recipe for apple crisp with maple syrup and brown sugar.
My daughters and I love autumn and the tradition of visiting the apple orchards that are near our home. We love baking fall desserts as well.

How to Make Apple Crisp With Maple Syrup
To make an apple crisp with maple syrup, you will need baking apples, rolled oats, flour, maple syrup, butter, brown sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and salt.
If you would like to make a gluten-free apple crisp, you may use gluten-free flour, in place of the all-purpose flour, and gluten-free oats as well.
For the Filling
Wash, peel, and cut the apples into 1/4” to 1/2” slices or pieces. In a bowl, mix the apples with the lemon juice, maple syrup, flour, cinnamon, and salt.
I like to mix the flour, cinnamon, and salt together in a small bowl until well combined before adding this to the apples, lemon juice, and maple syrup.
Place the apple filling in a buttered, two-quart baking dish.
For the Topping
I like to use a pastry blender to mix the flour, butter, brown sugar, and salt together in a bowl until crumbly.
Additionally, with a spoon, stir in the oats and sprinkle the topping over the apple filling in the baking dish.
Bake the apple crisp in an oven at 350 degrees F for 30 to 45 minutes just until the topping is golden brown.
Upon taking the maple apple crisp out of the oven, place the baking dish on a wire rack to cool for a few minutes before serving.
My favourite way to serve the maple apple crisp is warm and with vanilla ice cream.
I hope that you like this recipe for apple crisp, and that you have a lovely day!
